Today ground level: a Medieval Church
A splendid Medieval mosaic. A wonderfully painted Early Renaissance chapel. A unique atmopshere made of silence, shadows and history. They thought this building was the first St.Clement’s church, built over 16 centuries ago. But they were wrong…

1600 years ago and 30 feet underground: an Early Christian church
Go downstairs into the darkness of a forgotten world. For about 800 years nobody walked through these galleries, until a brave religious father started digging. He found the original St.Clement’s Basilica, built over 1600 years ago. Frescoes on the walls tell us stories of earthquakes, saints travelling to Russia, a powerful lady painted on the wall and some of the earliest Italian writings ever found. About 30 feet under the modern streets.

1800 years ago and 45 feet underground: the Temple of Mitra
When you think that you saw all, find the staircase that will lead you down to the third underground level. A hidden chamber with a marble altar in the middle. A misterious ritual including a Persian god killing a sacred bull. Seven layers of knowledge to access the secrets of Mitra. 1800 years ago and 45 feet under the modern street level.

1900 years ago and 50 feet underground: the so-called Imperial Mint
A gigantic warehouse flanking an underground natural waterspring. An entire archeological treasure still unexcavated (we do not want the whole castle to fall!). A simple storage building or the official mint of the Roman Empire? Archaeology is not a science: go down and make your own opinion! At the end of the first century AD, 45 feet underground.

The ancient road under the Monastery
One of the most magic corner of Rome. A Medieval monastery built over the basement of an Ancient Roman temple and flanked by an Ancient Roman 4 storeys apartment building. Difficult to describe…much better to experience it!

Two ancient houses under a church
A very complex archaeological site where you will thank God to have a guide with you! A whealthy villa on the hilltop. An apartment building with stores facing the street right beside the villa. A rich man that purchases the two blocks and unite them into a single property. It seems like a modern story, but it happened about 1700 years ago! Visit the underground of St.John and Paul’s Basilica and discover a treasure made of ancient frescoes and mosaic floors, the tombs of Early Christian saints and an underground private thermal bath.

The most beautiful ancient fountain of Rome
Ancient divinities painted on the wall of the most splendid ancient fountain of Rome, made about 1700 years ago. The most important Imperial Aqueduct of the world, taking water to the imperial palace. Water has always been the most important secret of Rome and here you can fully understand it.
